What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites function and remember information about your visit. Related technologies such as local storage serve similar purposes; we refer to all of these as “cookies” in this policy.

How We Use Cookies

Love & Letter uses essential cookies necessary for the Services to function, Plausible Analytics (cookieless) to understand how the site is used, and the Meta Pixel to measure ads and website visits.

Essential cookies and storage we use:

• Authentication (Supabase): session tokens that keep you signed in to your account. Without these, you could not log in or access your keepsakes.
• Payment processing (Stripe):when you make a purchase, Stripe sets cookies necessary to process payment securely and prevent fraud. These are governed by Stripe's own policies (stripe.com/privacy).
• Local storage:we use your browser's local storage to preserve in-progress keepsake drafts on your device so your work is not lost if you refresh the page. This data is cleared when you sign out.

Analytics and advertising:

• Plausible Analytics: cookieless page views and product funnel events (viewport and signed-in state; plan and amount on purchase). No email, name, or keepsake content is sent.
• Meta Pixel and Conversions API: a script from Meta (Facebook) that sets cookies (_fbp, _fbc) and similar identifiers to record PageView, ViewContent (keepsake preview), InitiateCheckout, and Purchase events for ads measurement. For Purchase, we also send a server-side event with a SHA-256 hash of the checkout email (never the raw address), a hashed account id, and those cookie identifiers so Meta can match the payment to an ad click. This is advertising / cross-site tracking, governed by Meta's policies (facebook.com/privacy/policy).

What We Don't Use

We do not sell personal information. Plausible does not collect personal data. We do not send Meta your raw email, name, or keepsake content. Purchase matching uses a one-way SHA-256 hash of the Stripe checkout email only.

Managing Cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent core features of the Services — such as signing in — from working. You can opt out of Meta interest-based ads at facebook.com/settings?tab=ads.

Changes to This Policy

If we change how we use cookies or advertising, we will update this policy and note the new effective date.
